Healthy Snack? Arnold Select Sandwich Thins - Seedless Rye
Posted by admin in Food, Healthy Eating on June 16th, 2009
I was shopping for sandwich bread, excited to make a Dagwood sandwich for dinner, and I came across Arnold Select Sandwich Thins.
I copped the seedless rye. It looks promising. Thin, 100% whole wheat, 100 calories a serving and 5 grams of fiber. (20% of recommended daily intake.)
See, I am down for any kind of bread that can boost my fiber intake, while being low in calories, and THIN. I am not a thick bread kind of cat. And even better, the bread is supposedly pretty good for grilling an toasting. And a hot, grilled sandwich is the truth.
Anyway, I made my first sandwich on some simple shit - Salmon burgers and grapeseed oil, vegetarian mayonnaise. I grilled the bread in the pan with my salmon burgers and kept it quick and simple. I think a jailhouse iron would have been just as good as the job I did, in regards to grilling the bread. HA!
Bottom line is, this was a quick and dirty attempt to make a sandwich, and it came out ok. I wasn’t putting any heart into hooking it up, and the salmon and mayonnaise angle may not have done this bread justice.
I need to try something more classic - Like a ham and cheese, grilled on the Foreman grill. THAT might be a test worth checking out!
Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame

My latest find in Whole Foods?

These joints ARE THE TRUTH. This is a tasty, yet healthy snack — a 1/4 cup serving has 7 grams of fiber, or 30% of your daily recommended intake and 14 grams of protein, or 28% of your daily protein intake requirements.
The only thing is, I am waiting for someone to ruin my healthy snack food buzz — You know, someone hollerin’ about, “edamame and testosterone” and “the side effects of edamame“.
I say that because of the whole thing about soy and supposed side-effects for men. Oh well, I am just going to enjoy and hope I don’t start growing tits. HA!
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I am enjoying the Wasabi flavored edamame, too.
Jon Gosselin No Longer on Show?
Posted by admin in Jon and Kate Plus 8, TV Shows on June 4th, 2009
Not yet — When pressed about whether he felt his kids were exploited, People Magazine says, “Jon insists his children’s happiness will remain his focus – even if keeping them happy means quitting the show. ”
Well, uhhhhh, quit the show maybe? Write a book or something about how much a bitch Kate has been to him and make some $$$$$$. Then again, that $25,000, $50,000, $75,000, or whatever they are being paid per episode must be too tempting.
No worry, beef curry!
What Happened to MC Ren? Who Cares! His Old Shit Was SICK!
Posted by admin in Music, Rap/Hip Hop on June 4th, 2009
And no, I am not talking about his days in NWA. I am talking about when he went solo. Cats used to say I was off when I swore that Shock of the Hour was tight. I re-listened today…Man, what a solid album. Tight lyrics, as expected by MC Ren and great production. Sure, Ren could rap nasty as hell on one track, then be a serious ass cat the next track, but I don’t care.
I wonder if there is ever a chance of a REAL NWA reunion? Not that B.S. they did before. The thing is I am not sure a NWA reunion would be worth it - But it won’t happen…Dre trying to be perfect would keep an album on the shelves…But I digress…
Whole Foods Frozen Food Winner: Tuna Burgers
Posted by admin in Food, Whole Foods on June 4th, 2009
These tuna burgers are the TRUTH.
They are easy to make, healthy and taste good! I either put them on the grill, or put them on the stove and sear them with some grape seed oil. I usually eat them on a whole grain potato roll, or lately, in a whole wheat wrap. When I eat them on a potato roll, I add some healthy grape seed oil vegetarian mayonnaise. (Yeah, two mentions for grape seed oil — gotta get the grape seed oil health benefits.) Today, I cut up the tuna burgers and put them in a whole wheat wrap with tomato, bean sprouts, and wasabi salad dressing. Yeah, I know the bean sprouts sound kind of weird in the mix, but I love the crunch of bean sprouts. Anyway, can’t help kissing Whole Foods’ ass. I have no problem spending extra to get the kind of goodness they sell.

Jon and Kate - Jon’s Affair? Kate’s Affair?
Posted by admin in Jon and Kate Plus 8, TV Shows on June 3rd, 2009
Is Jon really having an affair? Can you call it that when Kate may be having an affair herself?
Anyhow, this crap is really spiraling out of control. I read somewhere that Jon has his broads coming over to some spare room in their new house and it is with Kate’s permisson. I don’t think that is true considering paparazzi is posted up all around their home. Whatever the hell is going on, I just don’t feel right. Forget Jon or Kate’s affairs — What about the kids? Those kids are going to have some ISSUES growing up. Yeah, it is interesting to watch this trainwreck, but Jon and Kate need to shut the show DOWN. And everybody needs to take their ass to counseling and begin to sort out this reality TV mess.
